Roger Highfield (OT Trinity 2017) suggests that there are a lot of elephants roaming about in the world of climate change.

One that rarely gets mentioned, despite its size, is militarism.

We, as a global community, are now spending not far short of two trillion dollars a year the world’s military.

A substantial part of that sum goes towards military production, most of which produces and releases CO2.

This elephant is not just one amongst many.

It is one whose size could be reduced quite rapidly if the climate change experts acknowledged the link.

The military are supposed to be protecting us.

In fact they may be increasing the risks we all face.
