Watch the building of two anagama style Japanese kilns, at Oxford University's Wytham Woods.

Follow the potters as they scout out land in the heart of Wytham Woods for the intensive task of constructing Oxford’s Anagama. Intended as practical research, the kiln has drawn the interest of anthropologists, potters and artists.  Reaching temperatures of 1400°C, the Anagama is a traditional Japanese ceramics kiln used for hundreds of years, now recreated in the Oxfordshire countryside.
